Caydence is home..

Okay so I am a slacker. Caydence has been home for a week now and I am just getting around to blogging about it. It is good to have him home, but boy I forgot what it was like to have a new baby!!! The being up all night feeding and all that good stuff. Last night he finally slept for 5 hours without waking up. I was so excited. Since he has been home it he has been up every 3 hours on the dot to eat. Let me tell ya he takes forever to eat to. I don't know what it is about my kids but they eat so little all the time until they get bigger.. What wackos I have for children. So anyway it has been a tired week for me. Caydence is up all night and Payton and Abriee are up all day, so what little sleep I do manage at night keeps me going all day. Now I am not complaining and I love my children. I am just so glad that we are done!!!

Caydence is 2 weeks old today and he had his 3 week checkup. He is now 7.5 lbs and is still 20 inches long.. I have to tell ya I was really surprised that he has gained a pound since being home. Payton nor Abriee had gained that much weight at their 2 week check up and Abriee is a junk!!! Needless to say its going to be interesting to see what happens while they grow up. Payton will be the "runt" of the family.

Payton and Abriee love Caydence to death and its so cute to watch hem hold him.Payton could hold him all day if I let him. Abriee just gets a big grin on her face and thinks that she is mommy now. Abriee is my keeper of the bottles and fighter for the binkies.. She loves to keep track of Caydences' bottles, hates it when he has a binkie. The binkies are only for her!!! What a wacko!!! They are help when I need them to be and more often when I don't need them to be. They have all adjusted very well to Caydence and Caydence does well with them too. I have not had any jealousy issues with Abriee and she has done very well with him home.

I am blessed with 3 wonderful children that drive me up the wall!! Ha ha. I know one day they will drive me completely crazy, but I wouldn't trade it for anything..
Payton is such a big brother!! It's funny that when Caydence was first born and we were in the hospital Payton wanted nothing to do with him. Now he just can't get enough!!!
Abriee was so excited to actually see Caydence and finally know that there was really a baby!! She is just starting to get the hang of holding him. She actually has to hold him. He doesn't hold himself up yet!!
Aren't they just so cute?! One day Payton will actually look at the camera and smile for a picture. He is just camera shy!!

Good news...

Caydence is finally in an open crib and out of his incubator. He has been in an open crib since Tuesday night around 10:00 pm. So he is scheduled to have his hearing test done today and his circumcision done this morning. So today could be the day if all goes well. Just waiting for that call that says come get him. Its amazing how the light just clicks with one day and then all the sudden he is better.

We are so ready for him to come home so we don't have to spend what spare time we have at the hospital.. Last night he was doing great when we went up to visit. So hopefully he will do fine today with his circumcision and come home today.. Wish us luck!!!!

He's here,but not home....

Friday September 19, 2008 we had a baby boy.. He was 6lbs 7 oz and 20 in. long.We named him Caydence Phillip Keel. He is a doll and looks just like Payton. I think I have my work cut out for me when he gets older!!! I was so excited to find out it was a boy. So Friday evening around 5 pm he was having some problems being all jittery and shaky so they checked him out and found out his sugars were really low. Way down in the 30's which is extremely low and verging on some serious problems. So they immediately stuck him in the NICU and has been there since. Thankfully his sugars have leveled out and we have no problems with that any more..
Now the poor kid can't keep his body temp up. He is in an incubator right now and the air in the incubator has to stay around 95 degrees and higher just so his body temp will stay up in normal range. The doctors can't say why he can't keep it up so its kinda frustrating right now. We can't hold him much just when he eats and then we have to put him strait back in the incubator.. So right now its a waiting game and I have no idea when he will be able to come home. Now we make it up to the hospital to visit when we can, but with 2 kids at home it makes it hard to make it often.

I came home lat night( Sept. 22). I am actually entitled to another day or so, but my kids at home need me more then Caydence does right now. I actually feel pretty good just sore from the c-section. I figured that since having gone through this once before with Payton that it would be easy to go home, but I have had a really hard time with Caydence being in the NICU. So hopefully I can handle it well enough until he comes home. Hopefully by the end of the week he will get to where he needs to be.. I am just glad to be home. Abriees' world has been turned upside down and she was having a hard time when I was in the hospital. She was so excited when I came home yesterday!!! She is a doll..

Like father like son..

Yard work, yard work, and more yard work.
Last night we decided that we would do a little yard work. The stuff I hate to do in the heat and it even makes it worse when I am carrying extra pounds!! I usually mow the lawn, but lately Ray has been doing it. Every time I mow it about half way through I start having contractions and he has to finish it anyway. Last night as I was playing with Abriee I happened to look up and see Ray and Payton mowing the lawn.. It was so cute and Payton had this big grin on his face. He was so excited to be helping and he thought that he was such a big boy.. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to take these pictures.. I thought that it was just so stinking' cute.. FYI Paytons help only lasted about 1 1/2 times around our yard and then he was done and on to better activities.. His favorite as of lately is throwing sand on Abriee and pestering her until she cries!! he really does love her,but he like to see her cry. For some reason he thinks it's funny and laughs when he makes her cry.. What a boy!! I do believe that is typical of boys. Right?

On another note I have been dog sitting for my mom. A few weeks ago she bought her a little dog. It is half Shitzu and half Pug and its the cutest thing ever. Well he is really ugly but cute at the same time. He is only about 12 inches long and weighs only about 2 pounds. He is about the size of Payton when he was born just a little shorter!! Mom calls him Pugsy and we call him Mr. T. He has a Mohawk in the center of his head and hair around his face that is sporadically growing and he reminds us of Mr.T. He looks like an old dog, but he is only 12 weeks old or so.. In case I didn't post we got rid of our chocolate lab. She was way to much for me and the kids really didn't like her. She was too hyper and way to big for them to play with and being a puppy we couldn't really expect nothing else. So we sold her to a nice family that will take care of her and actually have time to train and stuff with her. Honestly I enjoy not having the extra responsibility in taking care of her. I will have to say that the small dog is much better..

Oh NO!!..There's a bird in the house!!

Last night as we were having dinner we heard this noise in the kitchen. Out if the corner of Rays' eye he could have swore that he saw something drop out of the ceiling. We looked and couldn't find anything. I just figured if it was anything it would have been a mouse , but we searched and couldn't find anything.. So we just went about the rest of the night like nothing had happened.

Later that night after I had put the kids to bed I kept hearing this noise in the kitchen at the bottom of our corner shelves. It sounded like it was coming from plastic sacks I had on the shelves. So I once again went over and looked and I couldn't find anything. A few minutes later I heard a noise that sounded like a cry and so I searched again.. Nothing. Ray went and looked he found nothing. So we went to bed and I never thought anything about it again..

Well this morning Payton got up and he was looking under the shelves on the floor and kept coming up to me and saying "Quack, Quack" ( that's his duck and bird sound) I couldn't figure out why he was saying it and looking under that shelf. I just figured he was repeating the cartoon that was on and I just blew it off. Well he was so persistent on it and kept repeating"quack, quack".. So I looked again and Abriee was trying to get under the shelf as well. It was then that I figured something must be under there. I was just hoping it wasn't a mouse cause they are gross and it was probably dead if it was. So I get my big belly on the ground and lay down to look under the shelf and there was the mysterious noise maker.. A baby bird.. It had been there all night. The kids were trying to get it to play with it. It was kinda gross cause it had been trying to get out and apparently couldn't figure out how and it had poop all over the floor. I was so not excited to tackle that mess.

I got the bird out and let the kids play with it. Payton was scared to death of and Abriee just wanted to carry it around and poke at it.. It was pretty funny.. So mystery solved. Somehow a bird flew in our house and got stuck on the floor under a shelf and spent the night in the house. I let it out this morning and hopefully it found mom or home..

Potty training...What a chore!!!

For the last few weeks Payton has been taking his diaper off every time he poos or he pees. I am sick of cleaning it up all the time. Especially when I wake up the next morning to find it all over his room. I had tried everything to keep his diapers on and nothing has worked. So I decided that if he is big enough to take his diaper off then he is big enough to use the potty!!! We are on day 3 and on day 2 i was ready to give up completely.. Potty training is for those who have patience to do it. I find I run out of patience a lot and then we both just get frustrated and nothing works well. Surprisingly Payton has done pretty well.. He still can't tell me when he needs to go sow e have to make it a point to go every 10-15 minutes or so.

For some reason all day long he thinks it's a game with me and he still hasn't figures out that he doesn't have to always "push" it out. But he gets so excited when he actually goes and then he runs in the kitchen for his treat.. It is actually really cute. I enjoy potty training more when Ray is home. Payton does better when daddy takes him and he always go better as well.. I can't figure that out either.. Oh well.. We really haven't had too many accidents. Its when I get busy and forget to take him potty.. He still hasn't figured out the pooping in potty part yet, but hopefully by next week we will have more progress.. That would be great..

It will be nice to have only 2 in diapers. In the process of potty training Payton I have noticed that Abriee is starting to want to use the potty as well. She will always have to sit on the potty after Payton. I have no desire to start her at the same time as Payton.. There is no way I am going to put her in panties either. One is enough. No pull ups for Payton and no more diapers.. We went straight to underwear and that's they way it will stay. Luckily for me he stays dry all night and through nap time. I hear that's a good step..

I am thinking that when Payton gets better at the potty then I might try with Abriee. I just keep thinking it would be so nice to only have 1 baby in diapers.. We will just have to see how much patience I have when I am on better track with Payton. I look forward to the weekend so Ray is home to take over potty training!!! Yeah for Daddy!!! For real this potty training stuff might just drive me to the loony bin as well!!!! So if you try to get a hold of me and can't check the loony bins and I will probably be there!!

Babies of the same size...

Yesterday I had a doctors appointment and I took Payton and Abriee with me. Of course Ray came along to keep them on track. So we decided to weigh them to see how much they weigh.. I don't know why we were so surprised to find out that Payton weighed 26.4 lbs and Abriee weighed 24.2 lbs.. It seems kinda funny that even though they are 12 months and 18 days apart Abriee is just a big as Payton. It also got me wondering about how much they should gain in a month. Since Abriee was at her 12 month appointment she weighed 22 lbs. So in 3 months she has only gained 2 pounds. Is that normal? Since then Payton weighed 26 lbs so he has not gained any weight since his 2 year check up. Is that normal not to gain any weight in 3 months..??? Who knows, but I am not going to worry too much unless I notice that they are starting to loose too much weight..

So everything is good with the baby so far.. Just a little high blood pressure and a little baby on the small side, but normal for me.. Now here in the fun part of seeing the doctor every 2 weeks for a month and then probably on a weekly basis.. So much fun.. It wouldn't be bad if it was a normal appointment but from here on out its a 45 minute ultrasound and a word with the doctor that usually takes about 10 minutes or so.. Not to mention that every single time I go to see the doctor he is always 30 minutes or more behind.. What a joy.. So add it all up I wait for usually about 45 minutes before I even see him and then I am there for a least another hour!!! I am so excited.. The good thing is that Ray gets to come to every appointment with this baby casue I can see my doctor after he gets off work.. So at least I have someone to kill the time with!!

No we are not finding out what we are having cause frankly I don't really care and for once it will be interesting to just know when it comes.. It doesn't matter anyway too us what we have. Well that what we tell ourselves, but honestly Ray would like another little girl and I would like a little boy.. I can deal with boys much better than I can girls.. Abriee is too needy for me and she drives me crazy. She always needs to be held and cuddled and all that stuff that I am not too fond of. Payton drives me crazy only because he does things he knows he isn't suppose to. If he had it his way he would just play and need no supervision!!! What a great kid!! So we will see what we have whenever it decides to come!!
